karres+brands wins the first water project with a DBFM contract in the Netherlands. Together with the Keersluis Limmel Company led consortium and Quist Wintermans Architects we made the design of the Limmel Lock at the Juliana canal near Maastricht (NL).

The canal is an important navigational route between Limmel and Maasbracht. As a result of broadening and deepening of the canal larger barges will be able to use this route in the future. In order to give these larger barges access to the Juliana canal the old Limmel Lock will replaced by a barrage lock.
