Craibosch: Living in Harmony with the Landscape

How can new housing be added without disrupting the landscape? That question guided the design of Craibosch in Blaricum, a unique residential project located in the heart of nature, near an ecological zone and wildlife crossing. In a short video, our colleagues share their vision on how landscape and architecture can truly co-exist.

The site’s sensitive location called for a careful approach. The housing clusters are subtly integrated into the terrain, preserving existing trees and reinforcing natural elements. Buildings are positioned to blend into their surroundings, with modest volumes, sloped roofs, and natural materials that echo the qualities of the landscape. Social connection was another key ambition. Thoughtfully designed pathways, shared gardens, and informal meeting places encourage spontaneous encounters between residents, creating a strong sense of community.

Craibosch demonstrates that with precision and care, it is possible to add housing while enhancing both ecological value and spatial identity.
