We made it to the second round in the competitive dialog for the former Güterbahnhof Köpenick in Berlin. Together with Adept and PGT Umwelt & Verkehr we transform the 34ha. former cargo trainstation into a mixed urban quarter with 1.800 housing units and a grand dike park. Hereby we connect the new center around Bahnhof Köpenick with the surrounding landscape to create a resilient green framework for a highly liveable neighbourhood in East Berlin. By reactivating the old structures of the station buildings and reusing the excavated soil for our topography we keep the material cycles on site to develop a sustainable and future proof extension of the urban fabric of beautiful Köpenick.
